Minecraft - Introduction To Farming

Farming is an excellent way to obtain materials for your Minecraft adventures. Before you assume it's just "go and grow" like you see on popular game applications there are a few things you should think about.

Plant Farming

First, you must construct a hoe (in survival mode) or locate one on the tools tab (in creative mode) Then, find a patch of grass to begin your farm. To begin, right-click on the area. When it is a row of dirt that look like farmland select a seed that you've stumbled across - either by destruction of trees and other plants in survival mode or locating them in the materials tab in creative mode. right-click on the spot where you'd like to plant your seed.  53vv The buds will turn tiny. To help your plants grow naturally surround the field with a channel of water The average time for full growth on water alone is between 5 and 10 minutes. You are free to continue playing in the meantime and then return to your plants once you are ready. If you want them to grow faster then you can apply bonemeal (from the bones of destroyed skeletons). Right-click on the plant to apply the bonemeal. Voila! Depending on the plant's size (e.g. grass vs. tree) It takes between 1 and 5 clicks for instantaneous growth.

Once the plant has grown, it can be harvested. You can destroy the plant to make the fruit drop. Sugarcane, wheat and pumpkins are all viable to grow. You can make a jacko'lantern from a pumpkin and place it on your head.

Mob Farming

Mob farming is more complex than traditional plant farming. Mob farming isn't just about cultivating plants, but rather "growing" enemies that automatically die and drop items for you. Although it sounds awful but the creatures who are "grown" or "spawned" simply fall over and disappear. This leaves behind valuable items like ender pearls (which you can use to locate the end portals) as well as bonemeal (to train dogs) and string (to create bows and arrows).

First, you need to find an appealing design. This isn't covered here. One strategy that has been proven to be successful is water + cliff. One of the most important aspects of mob farming is a completely dark enclosure, as any dark spot in the world of Minecraft spawns enemy characters like zombies and endermen, so keep this in mind when you begin to investigate the complexities of mob farming. You'll need to choose the location that allows you to enjoy complete darkness.
